U.S.-Dakota War Commemoration Newspaper Article Series
The Steering Committee has decided to have various authors/persons write articles regarding the US-Dakota War of 1862. These articles will tell the historical aspects leading up to the war, during the war and the aftermath. Some articles will also tell stories of those who in the area and survived the war.
February 2011 article is about the August 14th, 1862 Petition.
March 2011 article is about Norwegian - Indian Friendship
May 2011 article is about Flandrau's Charge
July 2011 article is about Planning for the Worst Case Scenario
